A 6 ft. nylon leash may not seem like much, but it can be a life saver.
This is why Feet & Paws Fitness is happy to announce the launching of the initiative,
The objective of this effort is to:
- Help save lives by educating dog owners about the importance of walking their dog on-leash (and holding on to it)
- Encourage the use of 6 ft. nylon or leather leashes, properly fitted collars and correct leash holding techniques
- Provide a polite avenue for on-leash supporters to share the importance of using (and holding on to) a leash with off-leash dog walking neighbors, friends and family (I know from personal experience that this educational avenue has helped me start constructive conversations instead of heated discussions that leave both parties frustrated).
The first step of this effort is our instructional video showing you How To Hold Your Dog’s Leash, which is the first step to learn how to walk your dog on leash. It includes important collar sizing tips, proper leash handling techniques and much more! Watch at
Of course, you also don’t miss our Top 10 Reasons To Walk Your Dog On-Leash
…No, this is not a hyperlink, yet. Before talking a glance at our list, what reasons come to your mind? What is your guess for our number #1 reason?
OK, now that you’ve made a few guesses, read our complete list at www.lovethemsoleashthem.com/top-10-reasons-to-always-walk-your-dog-on-leash/
Great! I hope you enjoyed reading through our reasons to always walk your dog on-leash. Had you thought about all of these possibilities? If so, I bet you are already knew that there is no advantage of off-leash walking that outweighs the potentially fatal consequence. If not, you just might start to see your next walk with your best friend in a different way..a scurrying neighbor down the block or the “Warning: Fresh Fertilizer” sign, just to name a few.
This is just the beginning. We want this initiative to grow. After all, your dog’s life is important to us.
So, we are taking our commitment to on-leash walking, as well as our love of working out with our dogs..back to the 80’s!
You’re Invited to practice your on-leash walking with our next Training Troupe and Event Group for the Awesome 80’s 5/10K Walk/Run*. Not only will we gather as a group for this tubular event on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Pasadena, but we have scheduled a few fun, FREE training walks/hikes in the coming weeks. Get out and active with your dog in three different, fantastic LA locations, with obedience and fitness tips available from our certified fitness and dog trainer, Tracy James.
For the complete training schedule, additional event information and to RSVP go to http://feetandpawsfitness.com/ourservices/event-training-programs/
*There is an event registration fee..but your dog gets to join you at no additional cost so it’s like a 2-for-1 deal!
